With its theatres, flagship department stores, night clubs and some of Paris's best known concert venues, there is always something happening in the 'Haussmann - Opera' area. During the day, you can take a stroll along the broad avenues or explore the covered shopping arcades which are so typical of Paris. Clarion Collection Etoile Saint-Honoré Paris is at the heart of this neighbourhood.
If you are looking for a cultural experience, you can admire the magnificent dome of the Garnier Opera-house, and perhaps go in and look around. A little further on, in rue Scribe, you will also find the Fragonard museum, where you can learn all about the history of perfume-making.
If shopping is more your thing, you'll want to hit the department stores on boulevard Haussmann, where you will find Galeries Lafayette, Printemps or Citadium for street wear, as well as all the big fashion retailers.
At night, it's time to head for the grand boulevards. Boulevard Poissonnière is home to the famous Grand Rex cinema, scene of many film premieres and concerts. For clubbers, the Rex Club is just over the road.
